Senior Manufacturing Engineer – 5-Axis CNC Milling

Buffalo, NY (Onsite)
$115K – $145K + Full Benefits + Relocation Assistance

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support advanced aerospace component production within a complex milling (prismatic) environment .

This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you'll lead manufacturing process development, optimize production, and work directly with 5-axis CNC machining to drive precision and performance.

What You'll Do:

• Lead manufacturing process development for new aerospace components
• Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives
• Develop and prove out:
  • CNC programs (5-axis)
  • Operation sequences
  • Tooling and work holding strategies
  • Detailed work instructions
• Support and improve existing production processes through hands-on shop engagement
• Estimate:
  • Time standards
  • Labor requirements
  • Cost and production efficiency
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and capital equipment
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and suppliers to resolve issues
• Support automated manufacturing cells to improve efficiency and reduce variability
• Lead projects and potentially own the engineering function for a manufacturing cell

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree + 5+ years experience
  
  OR Associate's + 8+ years
  
  OR High School Diploma/GED + 10+ years experience
• Strong expertise in 5-axis CNC milling programming (CAD/CAM)
  • NX experience preferred
• End-to-end manufacturing process experience (raw material finished product)
• Hands-on machining experience (setup and operation)
• Experience with materials such as:
  • Aluminum
  • Titanium
  • Stainless steel
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Cutting tools
  • Work holding
  • Fixture design
• Project leadership experience
• Strong communication and documentation skills
