Job Description

We are looking for an IT SOX Consultant to support audit and compliance efforts for a Contract position based in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role focuses on evaluating IT controls, strengthening audit readiness, and helping the organization maintain effective governance practices. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in information systems auditing and can translate control assessments into practical recommendations for stakeholders.

• Conduct assessments of IT general controls and related processes to identify control gaps and areas of risk.
• Develop and maintain audit programs that align testing activities with compliance objectives and control frameworks.
• Review evidence, document results, and communicate audit findings with clear recommendations for remediation.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate control design and operating effectiveness across key technology environments.
• Apply COBIT principles and other relevant standards to support consistent control evaluation practices.
• Track remediation efforts and follow up on action plans to help ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
• Prepare organized audit workpapers and summaries that support conclusions for compliance and leadership review.

• Experience performing information systems audits in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• Working knowledge of SOX-related IT control testing, including ITreviews.
• Ability to create and execute structured audit programs and document testing results accurately.
• Familiarity with COBIT and its application within IT risk and control assessments.
• Strong ability to analyze audit findings and present practical, business-focused recommendations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Audit, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
