Organization:

ABSMC-Alta Bates Summit Med Center

Position Overview:

Performs 12 lead EKGs on adults and neonates and processes appropriate paperwork to complete test. Applies and removes 24-hour Holters. Schedules all aspects of testing when appropriate. Performs transcription and billing as necessary. Responds to codes and performs SAECG.

EDUCATION

• Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

• HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

• Associate's: College coursework in health sciences desirable.

• Other: Prefer demonstrated formal education program in EKG.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

• EKG-Technician

• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

• Previous EKG or monitor experience in CCU preferred.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Demonstrated knowledge of EKG procedures.

• Demonstrated knowledge of billing procedures.

• Demonstrated knowledge of typewriter/computer.

• Types at least 40 wpm on electric typewriter or computer keyboard.

• Knowledge of relevant clinical terminology.

• Work effectively and positively with other employees.

• Communicates effectively and clearly with patients and staff.

Pay Range is $36.56 to $43.23 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
