Job Opening: Head Chef / Lead Line Cook

Location: The Lodges on Seeley Lake – Northwestern Montana

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced line cook/chef at our newly opened, fast-growing lakefront resort restaurant in beautiful Northwestern Montana.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a small but mighty kitchen, playing a key role in maintaining and building on the high standards of service and cuisine we’ve already established. Our ideal candidate is energetic, positive, creative, and strong—someone who is passionate about food and excited to take ownership of a dynamic kitchen in a close-knit, supportive environment. Employment opportunities may be available for a partner or spouse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily kitchen operations and lead a small team (including a line assistant and dishwasher)
• Cook on the line regularly—this is a hands-on role
• Oversee food ordering, inventory, and kitchen organization
• Ensure food safety standards, cleanliness, and quality control
• Train and mentor staff to maintain consistency and excellence
• Collaborate on seasonal and daily menu design
• Provide catering for small group events at the resort

Ideal Candidate:

• Extensive experience as a line cook with a desire to grow into (or further thrive in) a head chef role
• Proven leadership in a kitchen setting (formal title not required)
• Strong work ethic and ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
• Creative and flexible, with a passion for seasonal and local ingredients
• Thrives in a fast-paced, small team setting, while maintaining calm, quiet efficacy.
• Physically healthy and energetic, able to work evenings and weekends
• Excited to live and work in a spectacular Montana setting

This is a full-time position offering competitive pay, one-bedroom housing, and the opportunity to be part of a special place with a loyal following.

Pay: $45,000.00 - 55,000.00 per year
